VNACF/CCE volunteers are a vital part of the care we provide. Volunteers can specify if they prefer to visit, run errands, grocery shop, participate in indoor or outdoor cleanup projects, or assist the staff at our adult day center. You can volunteer as an individual, family, or part of an organization.
Our volunteer programs include:
Senior Companion - If you are at least 60 years of age and have a limited income, you may be eligible for our most popular program. Senior Companions receive a tax-free stipend as well as mileage reimbursement and can volunteer up to 40 hours per week.
RELIEF (Respite for Elders Living in Everyday Families) - If you are at least 18 years of age and enjoy spending quiet time with the elderly, the RELIEF program may be for you. This program gives a break for caregivers who are unable to leave home. Stipends and mileage reimbursements are available.
Community Care Corps - Friendly Visitor & Operation Helping Hand
Friendly Visitors choose to befriend a specific homebound elderly person so that they can develop a lasting friendship and help with specific needs. When we have special projects in and around clients' homes we seek the assistance of groups of volunteers as part of our Operation Helping Hand.
Adult Day Center - Assistance is needed at the Day Center to help with activities and meals. And if your group has a special craft, hobby or talent you would like to demonstrate at the center, you can provide entertainment for the day !
